My Role: Prop Master & Props Crew
I worked independently to source and build all props. Specifically, I fabricated a fire effect with a fan and fabric, and I made an illuminating clock. I also worked with blood effects, which required clear communication between costumes, actors, and myself. During our previews, I had to quickly source and build a 4’ plastic bottle chandelier to hang over the pit band.

I managed a rental package of props, as well as independently created various new props for our version of the production. I had two weeks of build and shopping before tech, during which I made: a treasure jewel chest, a fake cake, lectern, wooden plank, statue costume, fake challah bread, embellishments on a throne, pom-poms and other hand souvenir props, and built and painted a silhouette of two characters on a boat.

My Role: Prop Supervisor
I managed a rental package for this production, while sourcing some props locally. I worked with my production manager to rent blank-firing rifles and coordinated safety training and ammo tests. I purchased an electronic vape pipe. I also reupholstered a chaise from stock. During load in, I delegated duties to the union crew to assist in taking care of notes, props tracking, and general maintenance. The full prop rental package was planned to arrive on our first day of load in, so learning all the props quickly was a unique challenge. We produced three operas in three months, and the turn around considering the quality of the productions was demanding and fulfilling.

My Role: Prop Master
I managed a crew of two artisans by delegating tasks and scheduling projects in the shop. I assisted in painting down furniture to distress it, created a stencil for the tomb names, dressed the dummy bodies with rented costumes, helped paint and bundle flowers, dressed the window display on the set, and built a large orthodox cross.

My Role: Prop Master & ASM
I single-handedly propped and dressed the show. I also operated as one of two crew members, requiring me to track props, assist in quick changes, do all pre-and-post-show duties, prepare all consumables, and execute scene changes. I reupholstered all chairs and stools, made fake liquor recipes, fabricated all fake dinner entrees, and dressed the tables. I worked within a tight budget which demanded a balance of repurposing old furniture and being cost-effective with consumables.

I sourced furniture and dressings. I prepared all fake alcohol recipes, and painted The Lapin Agile Painting (see process photos). My budget was meager, so I rented and thrifted many items to be able to remain below budget. I functioned as one of two backstage crew members during the run of show. I assisted in quick changes, scene changes, consumable prep, and pre-and-post show duties.

I worked single-handedly to prop this production. I had to source a functioning monitor top fridge, as well as dress and prop the production on a local theater slim budget. I operated as one of two crew members during the run as well, performing wagon moves, quick changes, rail moves, and pre-and-post show duties.

My Role: Prop Master & ASM
I was the only crew member backstage during this production. I assisted both actors with multiple quick changes, as well as operated the fly rail and performed scene changes. I worked with the scenic designer to dress the set with only white props. I also coordinated with our costume designer to assist in recovering the furniture for the production.
